EducationThe PRT difference

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." - Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)

The theater is the safest place in the world for children to explore and express themselves! Theatre is a powerful tool that can open an awareness in children by bringing them to experience situations and characters they may never have experienced before. Through acting, children can take on roles that make them think critically about the play and about the experiences of characters different from themselves.
Unfortunately, in California schools, the first subjects to be cut from the school curriculum are the arts. The arts are something that can't be tested by filling in a bubble with a # 2 pencil! Yet, it has been proven countless times that students who participate in the arts are students who do better in school!
Theatre isn't just a "fun thing to do"; theatre is a discipline. Theatre is much like sports in that it is very physical and we, as actors, stage crew, directors, etc., are all collaborators and must work as a team. The theatre process helps to develop a good work ethic, to build self-esteem and confidence, self-discipline, respect, and commitment to excellence - all while having fun!
Please make theatre a priority in the development of your child's full education!
